Orange Unified School District Trustee Diane Quezada Singer is holding a fundraiser this Thursday, October 17 at The Catch in Anaheim. The event runs the customary 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

OC Sheriff Sandra Hutchens and state Senator Lou Correa will be on hand as Diane kicks off her 2014 re-election fundraising.

Diane was elected to the seven-member OUSD Board of Trustees in 2010, representing Area 1. She also serves on the Anaheim Public Utilities Board, to which she was appointed earlier this year to fill the vacancy created by Jordan  Brandman’s election to the City Council.

For the uninitiated, members of the OUSD Board of Trustees are elected at-large from residency-based districts. And what do you know: 3 of the 7 trustees are Hispanic! Shhh! Nobody tell the ACLU that Latinos are able to get elected absent court-ordered re-structuring of local governance!

As the OUSD website states:

“Board members are elected by Trustee Area; however, they each represent
all schools within the District.”
