Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Gail Eastman is holding a re-election kick-off fund-raiser the evening of November 18 at The Honda Center’s newly-opened Grand Terrace:

Gail Eastman kick-off

This will be Gail Eastman‘s third time on the ballot. She was a Planning Commissioner in 2008 when she ran the first time and came close to knocking out incumbent Councilwoman Lorri Galloway (who is strongly rumored to be a candidate for mayor next year). She was the top vote-getter during her second run in 2010.

Eastman has lived in Anaheim most of her life (in the flatlands). She has been active in the community for years and notable, among other things, for her dedication to promoting knowledge of local history among schoolchildren through her leadership of the Gift of History program. She represents the city on a number of critical regional board, including the OCTA Board of Directors, where she has provided stable leadership for the population-weighted director seat after a few years of revolving appointees to that seat.

The hysteria of the ankle-biter set notwithstanding, she is popular with the normal voters. Her coalition of supporters is intact and given a solid campaign there is no reason to doubt she will be re-elected to a second term.
