The teachers union is holding a meeting at 6:00 p.m. this evening in the multipurpose room of the Euclid branch of the Anaheim Public Library. They’re bringing in bigger guns, such as California Teachers Association communications guy Frank Well, as part of a counteroffensive against a parents group seeking to use the Parent Trigger Law to convert Palm Lane Elementary School into an independent charter school. Palm Lane parents are being selectively invited to this (and an earlier) meeting to be subjected to the same scare tactics that have been deployed against this charter conversion effort for the last few months. It’s amazing how threatening the school unions and educracy find the prospect of parent empowerment to be.
last week, these Palm Lane Elementary School parents turned in a Parent Trigger Law petition with signatures from 67% of the schools parents and legal guardians.
