On Sunday, January 18, 2015, about 50 residents, including Mayor Tom Tait and several off-duty and retired APD officers, gathered along Anaheim Boulevard in front of City Hall holding placards supporting the Anaheim Police Department.
Dressed in blue, the participants formed a “thin blue line” along the curb as a symbolic gesture of support for the men and women who protect our community. The group crossed Anaheim Boulevard and marched down The Promenade to the circle by the ice rink, then back to city hall.
Passing motorists honked and gave enthusiastic thumbs up, as did several police officers as they drove by in their cruisers.
Monday morning Anaheim Police Chief Paul Quezada sent the following message to organizer Tammy Santangelo:
“Thank you very much for yesterday’s rally! My entire Department and I thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!!!
Photographer Steven Georges from behindthebadgeoc.com, took photos of the rally.
