We’re in the phase of the SD37 special election during which the campaigns are rolling out their endorsement press releases. The Don Wagner for Senate campaign has already announced several endorsements, including from OC District Attorney Tony Rackauckas:

Orange County’s top prosecutor, nationally respected District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, has endorsed Assemblyman Don Wagner for election to the state senate. Wagner won Rackauckas’ support for his years of work at the state level on behalf of law enforcement and crime victims. Wagner has successfully carried legislation recommended by the District Attorney’s office on behalf of crime victims and worked closely with the District Attorney to stop human trafficking.

“Assemblyman Wagner has been a leader on our efforts to stop human trafficking and worked to enhance our ability to prosecute these criminals for these heinous crimes,” said Tony Rackauckas.  “His work on the Judiciary Committee and grasp of the issues we face here in Orange County prove to me he is the right person for the job in the State Senate.”

And from the OC Taxpayers Association PAC:

Orange County’s leading taxpayer advocate, the OC Tax PAC, has endorsed Assemblyman Don Wagner for election to the State Senate.

“Assemblyman Wagner has fought hard for Orange County taxpayers, and he understands that high taxes and burdensome regulations are not the recipe for a prosperous economy,” said Carolyn Cavecche, President and CEO of the Orange County Taxpayers Association. “We know his record and we know he’ll continue to be a passionate advocate for taxpayers in the State Senate.”

The Mission of OC Tax PAC is to endorse candidates and ballot initiatives in accordance with their compliance with the Mission Statement of the Orange County Taxpayers Association. Founded in 1986 by a group of business owners and taxpayers, the Orange County Taxpayers Association is the only countywide organization whose exclusive focus is to represent taxpayers on government tax and spending policy issues.

The John Moorlach for Senate campaign announced endorsements from OC Supervisor Shawn Nelson and Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait:

Today newly re-elected Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait announced his support for former Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach for the open 37th Senate District. Mayor Tait joins Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson in supporting and actively working to elect Moorlach in the March 17 special election.

“Nobody has stronger credentials at restoring fiscally healthy sound government than John Moorlach,” said Mayor Tait. “John Moorlach will fight to eliminate Sacramento’s wall-of-debt and address the growing unfunded liabilities. For our state to truly find a path to sustained prosperity, we need more people like John Moorlach fighting for taxpayers and small business owners at the state level. I’m committed to helping John win this seat.”
