La Habra Councilman Tim Shaw announced earlier this year he is running for the 29th Senate District seat of his termed-out boss, Senator Bob Huff.
Huff has endorsed Shaw, and is hosting a fundraiser for him on May 7:

The list is impressive at an early stage of the campaign as Shaw is supported by seven mayors from the 29th District. The newly announced list of endorsements includes;

Tim Shaw has jumped out to an early lead in the campaign as the only announced Republican. His campaign has secured many Republican endorsements including the incumbent Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff making him the virtual consensus candidate. Senator Huff is prevented from running again due to term limits.
