STC Management New Owners at Gardenwalk
Last Tuesday April 30^th, I was glad to take part in the press conference at Gardenwalk where STC Management formally announced their new ownership. John Hsu and his team presented their exciting new vision for the design of the project, including a variety of new tenants who will be joining the project in the coming months. Many of the new retail and restaurant tenants bring diverse influences from around the globe. They are on track to have the project fully leased within the next few months allowing for more options for our residents and visitors. With the opening of the JW Marriott next year, I am delighted to see Gardenwalk grow and transform. I want to sincerely welcome STC Management to the Gardenwalk and District 4.

Day of the Child at the Ponderosa Family Resource Center
On April 26th I attended the 10th Annual Day of the Child celebration held at the Ponderosa Family Resource Center. This wonderful event was hosted by community members in partnership with the Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center and Ponderosa Elementary. Dedicated volunteers, along with staff from the center and school, welcomed children and their families to participate in activities, visit booths with books, games and contests, receive raffle prizes and much more. In addition, music and stage performers were featured throughout the day. The Zumba class showcase was especially fun, just one of the many classes offered to the community daily and for free. This is such an important resource for District 4, and our residents. Recently the Center was awarded the Statewide 2018 California Park & Recreation Society Award of Excellence.

Anaheim Fire & Rescue Training
I was invited to join Anaheim Firefighters, along with several of my council colleagues, to participate in a unique and interactive demonstration of what our Fire and Rescue professionals experience. We saw what they face daily. We were then invited to put on the equipment and participate in training activities at the North Net Fire Training Facility, so that we could experience first hand what firefighters experience. We put on full gear, sprayed hoses, climbed into buildings and even helped pry the door off a car. This was a first for me, and while it was very exciting, it was also very eye opening. It was quite impactful and helped us all to understand a little more about these incredible professionals and this important City resource. I am so grateful for all they do for our residents.
