This Independence Day, the Anaheim Hills Community Council and the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce will deliver the 31st Annual Anaheim Hills 4th of July Celebration to its community. The event will kick off with the 5K/10K Firecracker Run at the intersection of Santa Ana Canyon Road and Imperial Highway, at 7 a.m.  The Firecracker run is part of the day-long celebration that the Anaheim Hills Community Council has produced for over 30 years and is a staple event in the Anaheim Hills community.

“The run alone draws in over 1,000 runners and 20,000 Anaheim families, friends and community partners throughout the day’s festivities,” said Jim Cain, Anaheim Hills Community Council Director. “For many community members, this is a multigenerational family tradition.”

At 9 a.m., on the Canyon High School softball field, the Yankee Doodle Dog show will showcase furry four-legged friends competing for three category awards: Cutest Small Dog, Cutest Big Dog and Most Patriotic Dog.

The Patriotic Parade will commence at 1 p.m. with Anaheim residents proudly carrying the American flag, immediately followed by the guests of honor, Assemblyman Steven Choi, Mayor of Anaheim Harry Sidhu, Anaheim Councilmembers Trevor O’Neil and Steven Faessel, and Miss Anaheim. The parade, which consists of more than 50 organizations, will travel North on Imperial Highway before turning right on Santa Ana Canyon Road to Eucalyptus Park.

Culminating the day’s event, Peralta Park will feature live music and great food, beginning at 3 p.m., and will end with and an extraordinary show of lights in the sky as a grand finale at 9 p.m.
