The JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort, the first 4-Diamond hotel in Anaheim since the construction of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, opened for business today.

The property was previously scheduled to open in March of this year, but was delayed due to the pandemic-induced statewide economic shutdown that closed the Disneyland Resort.

The JW Marriott boasts 466 rooms, which include 19 suites. The rooms are 380 square feet in size – significantly larger than a standard hotel room – and include an expansive bathroom with large walk-in shower, stand-alone bath tub and vanity.  The rooms also have barn door closets; king-bed rooms have sofas with trundle beds.

The property is infused with modern art and augmented reality technology, and it’s design takes its inspiration from Orange County’s agricultural history – the hotel site was, at one time, a strawberry farm.

One of the most anticipated amenities is the Parkestry roof top bar, offering “elevated cocktail culture, creative mixology, and handcraft libations.” It is the second-tallest roof-top bar in Orange County and offering expansive views of the Anaheim Resort and a spectacular vantage point for watching the Disneyland fireworks when they return.  The Parkestry roof top bar will open in two weeks.

The hotel also features a stylish outdoor swimming pool with with three large cabanas and two day beds available for reservation upon check-in.

Guests are greeted at the entrance by a unique sculpture of a harvester planting a seed – which vanishes depending on the perceptive of the viewer:

The property features 43,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, as well as pre-function areas with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. The Grand Ballroom is an enormous 13,440 square-feet and can accommodate up to 1,400 guests.  The hotel has an additional 15 meeting rooms and breakout spaces throughout the property.

The JW Marriott is adjacent to the GardenWalk Mall, to which guests have direct access via the JW Garden, a relaxation area with bistro tables scattered among a variety of plants, flowers and trees. The Garden includes seed-to-table section where hotel restaurants grow seasonings and other ingredients such as jalapeno peppers. According to the JW Marriott:

The JW Garden innovative augmented reality sculpture garden that brings an inspiring Secret Butterfly Garden and Digital Forest to life on top of three steel sculptures by design studio HEAVY. Launching this fall, this first-of-its-kind digital garden experience transports guests into a serene space to plant seeds of imagination and personalize their fantastical trees. Inside the garden, guests play amongst digital caterpillars and butterflies, and experience Zen-like sculptures that tell a narrative of a magical plant’s evolution from seed to sapling to tree, and guests are enabled to nurture their trees and grow their relationship with the hotel as high as possible.

The JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort will observe a Safe Meeting protocol, remapping floor layouts to be within social distance guidelines and in accordance with CDC regulations. Additional procedures have been implemented to increase guest safety including updates to food and beverage programs and low touch meeting procedures.

Enhanced health and safety standards also include:
• Updated training protocols for all associates
• Additions to cleaning regiment designed to set an even higher standard of cleanliness
• All associates are required to wear a face covering as a part of their uniform
• All hotel guests are required to wear face coverings when moving throughout the hotel and
in common, shared spaces
• Modifications to associate-guest protocols have been developed to be consistent with
recommended social distancing guidelines and abide by local regulations

The hotel also includes an top-of-the-line fitness center with Peloton bikes and state-of-the-art equipment. Additionally, pop-up spa treatments infused throughout the property and a rejuvenating Yoga and Zen Room with in-person and digital classes will provide opportunities to refresh the mind, body, and soul. However, these are temporarily unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions.
