Anaheim Hills’ annual Fourth of July Celebration is back, with a theme of “Saluting Our Active Military & Veterans.”
The 32nd annual Independence Day celebration is sponsored by the Anaheim Hill Community Council, and the all-day event kicks off at 7:00 a.m. with the Firecracker 5K/10K Run/Walk at the intersection of Santa Ana Canyon and Imperial Highway, in front of the Canyon High School track.
The festivities continue at 9:00 a.m. with the Yankee Doodle Dog Show. Enjoy watching our four-legged friends vying in friendly competition for four categories: Cutest Small Dog (under 25 pounds), Cutest Medium Dog (26-55 pounds), Cutest Large Dog (over 55 pounds), and Yankee Doodle Dog (most patriotic).
A dazzling display of patriotic flair will surely be enjoyed as Anaheim residents, surprise special guests, and local organizations all come together to celebrate the Patriotic Parade featuring community-based groups, businesses, a flag march, and residents carrying banners of our local military heroes.
The 1.2 mile parade commences at 1:00 p.m. at Canyon High School and routes through Santa Ana Canyon Rd. to Eucalyptus Park.
The Fourth of July celebration continues in the afternoon and evening hours at Peralta Park where thousands of visitors will enjoy plenty of delicious food selections from a variety of non-profit vendors as well as live music. Starting at 3:00 p.m., live music will be performed by Sean Oliu, The Smokin’ Cobras, and Southbound.
This fun-filled day of celebrating freedom and independence culminates at 9:00 p.m. with a Spectacular Fireworks Show.
