As part of the city’s Summer Nights Under the Stars series, tonight the Anaheim Ballet will be showcasing its summer school dance celebration with a free performance of “Chopiniana” at the Pearson Park Amphitheatre.
Anaheim Ballet students – who come from around the world, the nation and Orange County – will also perform short works in hip hop, modern, character, tap dancing and more.
“Chopiniana” is also known as “Les Sylphides” – a short, non-narrative ballet described as the first ballet to be simply about mood and dance. It is set to the piano music by the great Frederic Chopin and was choreographed by Russian ballet icon Alexander Glazunov.
The performance is tonight, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Pearson Park Amphitheatre, 401 N. Lemon Street in Anaheim. Admission is free.
Audience members are encouraged to bring an original short poem to submit prior to the performance, which may be chosen to be read aloud as part of Anaheim Ballet’s “Putting Poetry Back Into Life!” campaign.
Yeah. Nothing to see in Anaheim these past few weeks. Move along now.
The JL Group report is sloppy, shot through with mistakes and errors and gossip and speculation. There are so many sloppy errors it undermines the credibility of these “investigators” and their report. They shook the council down for another $750,000 saying they couldn’t provide a complete report otherwise, and then can’t even manage to correctly identify Mishal Montgomery?
They didn’t try to Interview Jordan Brandman or James Vanderbilt or Gail Eastman? Or any former city managers other than Chris Zapata? They interview former city attorney Christina Talley (who has a huge axe to grind) but not former CA Mike Houston? But they made sure to interview you and your wife and crazy KEN BATISTE? How many expensive billable hours did they waste on a single, perfectly legal campaign phone call by Natalie R? Or the great Ashleigh Aitken campaign banner caper? Plus whole areas that had nothing to do with Anaheim while billing taxpayers hundreds of dollars per hour?
